Opis:: Celem badania jest ocena przydatności wybranych metod weryfikacji planów leczenia jako wymagany element procesu zachowania jakości w radioterapii. Wykonano plany leczenia dla dziesięciu pacjentów leczonych techniką VMAT o maksymalnym potencjale przyspieszającym 6 MV. Następnie przeprowadzono weryfikację dozymetryczną na akceleratorze za pomocą portalu EPID i porównano z wynikami obliczeń niezależnego oprogramowania RadCalc. Porównując wyniki weryfikacji otrzymane przez dwie niezależne metody, stwierdzono, iż dla tej lokalizacji leczenia możliwe jest ich zamienne używanie.
The aim of the study is to assess the suitability of selected methods of treatment plan verification as a required element of the quality maintenance process in radiotherapy. Treatment plans were made for ten patients treated with VMAT with a maximum potential accelerator of 6MV. Then, dosimetric verification was carried out on the accelerator using the EPID portal and the results from the calculations of the independent RadCalc software were compared. By comparing the results of the verification obtained by two independent methods, it was found that for this treatment location they could be used interchangeably.

Opis:: The article aims to verify the accuracy of a method to simulate the combustion chamber with a low-pressure prototype burner equipped with a specific “mixing element” and air baffle. The burner has an output of 4 kW and combusts methane. In detail, the article evaluates the accuracy of the final courses of temperatures and CO concentrations in the combustion chamber, which were obtained having combined the mathematical models k-ε, Eddy Dissipation and Discrete Transfer. CFD software CFX was used for the solution and visualisation of the results. The verification measurements imply that the final course of temperature plotted on the vertical axis of the combustion chamber differs from the real course by +21.7% on average. The predicted CO concentrations are relatively satisfactory in the chamber locations with lower temperatures – at the combustion chamber outlet the deviation from the measured value was +31.8%. Overall, the applied method may be considered acceptable to simulate the thermal field in a combustion chamber with the described burner.

Opis:: The paper deals with the design of equipment for verification and calibration of axle and crane weighing instruments. In its introduction, it discusses the basic concepts of axle and crane weighing instruments, their calibration, and verification. The paper briefly describes the original technical design solution used in the calibration and verification of these weighing instruments. Subsequently, the article describes the legislative, technical and functional requirements for metrological equipment being developed. The paper presents two design solutions for handling calibration weights. In both solutions, the construction and individual functional parts of the equipment are described. Both of these solutions were designed and tested in practical measurements in the Laboratory for Testing of Weighing Instruments of the Slovak Legal Metrology n.o. Finally, the paper presents the results of the development of a new measuring system at the University of Žilina.

Tytuł:: Optimization of methods verifying volunteers ability to provide hospice care

Opis:: The subject of the presented work was an attempt at optimization of the methods used for verification of the candidates for medical voluntary workers in a hospice and decreasing the danger of a negative influence of an incompetent volunteer on a person in a terminal stage of a disease and his or her relatives. The study was carried out in St. Lazarus Hospice in Krakow, Poland, and included 154 adult participants in four consecutive editions of "A course for volunteers - a guardian of the sick" organized by the hospice. In order to improve the recruitment of these workers, the hitherto methods of selection (an interview with the coordinator of volunteering and no less than 50% of attendance in classes of a preparatory course for volunteers") were expanded by additional instruments-the tests whose usefulness was examined in practice. Knowledge of candidates was tested with the use of a written examination which consisted of four open questions and an MCQ test comprising 31 questions. Practical abilities were checked by the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). A reference point for the results of these tests was a hidden standardized long-term observation carried out during the subsequent work of the volunteers in the stationary ward in the hospice using the Amsterdam Attitude and Communication Scale (AACS). Among the tests used, the greatest value (confirmed by a quantitative and qualitative analysis) in predicting how a given person would cope with practical tasks and in contact with the sick and their relatives had a practical test of the OSCE type.

Opis:: Nowadays, there are some problems corresponding with specifics of industrial instrumentation metrological support, i.e., compatibility ranges of resistance reproducibility in existing calibrators and the measurement range of industrial instrumentation, disability of controlling metrological characteristics in operation mode etc. To solve such problems, the use of active resistance simulators is possible. In the paper, there is presented the proper structure of an industrial resistance calibrator together with the calibrator error analysis.

Opis:: he paper compares two models of a mobile telescopic crane. The first is analytical and uses methods common in manipulator dynamics together with the modal method; the second uses the commercial ADAMS... package. Results of numerical simulations for rotation of the crane upper structure are presented and compared. Models are evaluated in terms of calculation time, possible development and use in crane design.
W pracy przedstawiono porównanie dwóch modeli samojezdnego żurawia teleskopowego. Pierwszy został opracowany na drodze analitycznej przy zastosowaniu metod z zakresu dynamiki manipulatorów z wykorzystaniem metody modalnej, drugi przy użyciu komercyjnego pakietu ADAMS... . Przedstawiono i porównano przykładowe wyniki symulacji numerycznych dla ruchu obrotowego nadwozia żurawia. Dokonano oceny modeli pod względem czasochłonności obliczeń, możliwości ich rozbudowy i zastosowania w projektowaniu żurawi.

Opis:: This paper presents a concept of component verification framework dedicated to a particular lightweight component environment. The starting point of the paper constitutes a discussion about the significance of verification of syntax in- consistencies in software development. Next, the need of verification in service-oriented and component-based systems is presented, and various approaches of verification in existing component environments are explained. The main part of the paper introduces a concept of functional integrity of component-based systems that utilize verification mechanisms which check consistency between components. The proposed solution is built on a fine-grained component environment (close to classes similarly to the Spring Framework) realized in the AgE platform. Selected technical aspects of framework design illustrate the considerations of the paper.

Opis:: Praca zatytułowana „Historia społeczno-polityczna powiatu raciborskiego w latach 1918-1950” ma na celu ukazanie bogatej i zarazem skomplikowanej historii tego granicznego regionu, z naciskiem na lata będące ujęte w temacie pracy. Miejsca, gdzie z jednej strony dochodzi do zderzenia, z drugiej zaś wzajemnego przenikania trzech kultur: polskiej, niemieckiej i morawskiej. Ukazanie jak zmiana granic wpłynęła na powstanie mozaiki kulturowej, przez co w konsekwencji ludność powiatu raciborskiego nigdy nie była monolitem pod względem narodowościowym. Praca ma na celu próbę ukazania jak na przestrzeni czasu zmieniał się skład narodowościowy oraz wyznaniowy. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. Rozpoczyna się rysem historycznym, nakreślającym zmianę państwowości oraz modyfikację granic ziem wchodzących w skład powiatu raciborskiego na przestrzeni wieków. Zawiera charakterystykę struktury narodowościowej oraz wyznaniowej ludności ziem pogranicza. Zakończenie pierwszej wojny światowej, kształtowanie się nowego powojennego ładu. Przyczyn oraz przebiegu powstań śląskich, plebiscytu z 20 marca 1921. Działania podejmowane z ramienia polskich działaczy na rzecz polskiego życia społeczno – kulturalnego. Wydarzenia Krwawego piątku z 10 sierpnia 1923. Geneza konfliktu granicznego z Czechosłowacją, którego eskalacja przypadała na okres bezpośrednio po zakończeniu II wojny światowej. Następnie kryzys gospodarczy lat 1929 – 1933. Polityka nazistowska względem ludności żydowskiej oraz przyczyny i przebieg raciborskiej Nocy Kryształowej. Rozdział drugi ukazuje położenie mieszkańców powiatu raciborskiego w latach 1939-1945. Szczególnie zaakcentowana została polityka wobec ludności niewładającej językiem niemieckim oraz wszelkie podjęte działania przeciwko odrodzeniu się języka polskiego. Tragiczne w skutkach epizody związane z bezwzględnym zwalczaniem związków pomiędzy miejscowymi kobietami a sprowadzanymi przymusowymi robotnikami. Działalność komisji mającej na celu weryfikację miejscowej ludności oraz ustalenia stopnia przydatności obywateli dla interesów III Rzeszy. Poruszona została kwestia zakładanych w powiecie Polenlagrów. Na zakończenie wspomniano o dyskusji wokół zniszczeń miasta Racibórz.Trzeci rozdział przedstawia kształtowanie się nowej powojennej rzeczywistości. Incydenty graniczne miedzy Polską a Czechosłowacją w 1945. Akcje repolonizacji. Kształtowanie się relacji między ludnością rodzimą a ludnością napływową. Trudności związane z osiedlaniem przybyszów z Polski Centralnej oraz ze Wschodu. Politykę wobec osób negatywnie zweryfikowanych, tworzenie obozów odosobnienia. Rola szkoły w powojennej rzeczywistości. Ukazania warunków w jakich nauczano. Poruszono kwestię relacji jaki panowały pomiędzy nową władzą a kościołem katolickim. Na zakończenie przedstawiono proces weryfikacji oraz wysiedleń na tym terenie.
Purpose of the 'Socio-political history of the district Racibórz in the years 1918-1950' is to show the very rich and complex history of border district Racibórz. This text will try to show sociological diversity of distict Racibórz, as a place where three coltures diffiusion.Work consists of three chapters. First one conteins histirical background of district Racibórz in the XX century. The second one is about social dynamics between german and nongerman speaking people in 1939-1945. Third one is about post World War II changes in policical and social area.

Opis:: In this paper the combination of fingerprint verification methods with watermarking technology to provide copyright protection and authentication of digital images is proposed. The goal of this study is to investigate how watermarking processing affects the quality of biometric watermarks. Performed experiments showed that extracted fingerprint images have roughly equal verification performance even if some watermarked images undergo additional degradation. Proposed methodology will be improved using more sophisticated fingerprint verification methods and subsequently incorporated into multimodal watermarking schemes.

Opis:: In order to provide safety of navigation, the ship's officer employs a lot of different devices which are installed on navigational bridge. One of them, very useful equipment is system for Automatic Identification of Ships (AIS). How ever, the Information thus obtained can be inaccurate or even false. In this article the author presented ways to verify the data obtained from Automatic Identification of Ships (AIS) with the help of radar (ARPA). The advantages of earlier verification of information obtained from AIS are presented when a vessel is manoeuvring and the data presented by ARPA are not reliable. An algorithm of a program which makes it possible to verify the reliability of data obtained from AIS has been presented here. A possibility has been demonstrated of constructing a device employing that algorithm in order to support the navigating officer in making decisions avoiding collisions. This system will alert the Watch Officer about incorrectness and about inaccuracy of ARPA and AIS. This solution could be a very helpful tool to be used in adverse weather conditions particularly for the vessels in collision situation.
