Opis:: In this article the requirements to some number of KPI that determine the quality of service (QoS) in 5G networks are formulated. The proposed QoS requirements are based on the analysis of functional requirements to 5G networks and traffic parameters for HD video and massive M2M services, which will be highly demanded in 2020. One of the 5G development paradigms is the network function virtualization (NFV) including cloud radio access and cloud core networks. The authors have proposed the concept of function blocks CQMF and CQCF to control and monitor QoS, which are implemented as part of the 5G network cloud infrastructure.

Opis:: A goal of the present thesis was creation of the automatic system which save data from video services and display them in a multimedia way. The filtering capabilities was extended by the analysis and the constant monitoring of the available video materials and the actions which were executed against this resources by the users in context of, among others, their nationality. It was implemented support for "YouTube" video service, taking into account a simple possibility of developing the system for working with others portals of this type. There were described the adopted techniques which were used to realize the presented objective, their capabilities and the limitations. The thesis introduces the possibilities of the configuration implemented applications for the universal purpose.
Celem niniejszej pracy było utworzenie automatycznego systemu pobierającego, zapisującego i prezentującego w sposób multimedialny dane z serwisów wideo. Możliwości filtrowania zostały rozszerzone poprzez analizę i ciągły monitoring dostępnych materiałów wideo, jak i akcji wykonywanych w stosunku do tych zasobów poprzez użytkowników w kontekście między innymi ich narodowości. Zaimplementowana została obsługa serwisu „YouTube” przy uwzględnionej prostej możliwości rozszerzenia systemu o wspieranie innych portali tego typu. Opisane zostały zastosowane techniki realizacji przedstawionego celu, ich możliwości oraz ograniczenia. W pracy zaprezentowano sposoby konfiguracji zaimplementowanych aplikacji na potrzeby uniwersalnych zastosowań.

Opis:: This paper describes a new measurement method (VS model) for determining the quality of online video services relying on modern H.265/HEVC and VP9 codecs. The said method has been developed on the basis of VQuad-HD curves (according to ITU-T J.341). This model does not refer to signal analysis, but protocol analysis instead. The parameters used are: type of video codec, encoding rate, transport technique, packet loss and burst size. The method may be implemented quickly and easily, which is one of the great advantages when using this method to measure QoS.

Opis:: The article substantiates the requirements for the quality characteristics of video information services. It is shown that it is necessary to improve the quality of video information by the following indicators: time delays for video data delivery in terms of ensuring the required completeness; integrity of video information in accordance with the requirements of the application. The consequence of this fact is an imbalance between meeting the requirements for different groups of quality characteristics of video services. A set of measures is used to reduce the load on information and communication systems. One of the key ones is the use of compression technologies to reduce the bit volume. Therefore, the development of new coding technologies in terms of localising the balance between the level of video data compression and its integrity is an urgent scientific and applied problem. The article describes the main stages of creating a method for determining the informative and positional weight for a coding system in a truncated positional basis. For this purpose, a system of mathematical relations is developed to determine the number of admissible sequences. On the basis of experimental studies, it is shown that the developed method has advantages in terms of ensuring the level of video data integrity under conditions of a given compression rate.
W artykule uzasadniono wymagania dotyczące cech jakościowych usług informacji wideo. Wykazano, że konieczna jest poprawa jakości informacji wideo pod względem następujących wskaźników: opóźnienia czasowe w dostarczaniu danych wideo pod względem zapewnienia wymaganej kompletności; integralność informacji wideo zgodnie z wymaganiami aplikacji. Konsekwencją tego faktu jest brak równowagi między spełnieniem wymagań dla różnych grup cech jakościowych usług wideo. Aby zmniejszyć obciążenie systemów teleinformatycznych, stosuje się szereg środków. Jednym z kluczowych jest wykorzystanie technologii kompresji w celu zmniejszenia objętości bitowej. Dlatego też rozwój nowych technologii kodowania w zakresie lokalizacji równowagi między poziomem kompresji danych wideo a ich integralnością jest pilnym zagadnieniem naukowym i praktycznym. W artykule opisano główne etapy tworzenia metody określania wagi informacyjnej i pozycyjnej dla systemu kodowania w skróconej bazie pozycyjnej. W tym celu opracowano system relacji matematycznych do określania liczby prawidłowych sekwencji. Na podstawie badań eksperymentalnych wykazano, że opracowana metoda ma zalety pod względem zapewnienia poziomu integralności danych wideo w warunkach określonego stopnia kompresji.

Opis:: This study aims to establish the role of a brand reputation as a critical success factor. Although there are studies on brand reputation, none of them focuses on the topic in the context of the subscription-based gaming market. The aim of the study is to establish how opinions of gamers about a game subscription provider and its performance (i.e. brand reputation) impact the success of this brand. An online survey was used as a method. All the findings reveal that the brand with a positive reputation is more successful than the brand with a negative or less positive reputation. Therefore, it may be stated that the positive reputation of a brand providing a video game subscription service supports the success of this service, while the negative reputation may contribute to its failure.

Opis:: Video surveillance on both marine and inland waters still only plays a mainly auxiliary role in vessel traffic observation and management. The newest technical achievements in visual systems allow camera images to be used in more sophisticated tasks, such as automatic vessel recognition and identification in observed areas. With the use of deep learning algorithms and other artificial intelligence methods, such as rough sets and fuzzy sets, new functions can be designed and implemented in monitoring systems. In this paper the challenges that were encountered and the technology that has been developed in managing video streams are presented as well as the images needed for tests and proper operation of the designed Ship Recognition and Identification System (SHREC). The current technologies, typical setups and capabilities of cameras, with regard to existing on-water video monitoring systems, are also presented. The aspects of collecting the test data in the Szczecin Water Junction area are also described. The main part of the article focuses on presenting the video data pre-processing, storing and managing procedures that have been developed for the purposes of the SHREC system.

Opis:: Has the world stopped spinning around a glass screen? Has traditional television been losing its unwavering positions over the years? New technologies specialists argue that video network endangers television. However, for 17 years, the time the average Pole spends in front of the TV has remained almost the same. As can be seen from the annual „Information about the problems of broadcasting”, prepared by the Office of Strategy in the National Broadcasting Council of Poland (KRRiT) in 2013, Poles watch television for an average of 4 hours and 7 minutes a day. TV still has its loyal audience, but it has to compete in fighting for viewers’ attention. The increasing availability of mobile devices and broadband internet access resulted in necessity of dealing with the changes in the use of media and the change in the needs and preferences of viewers. „Big Three” of broadcasters in response to recorded in recent years decline in the television market is taking action. One of these activities is to fight for the viewer in the network, through online platforms operated based on video on demand service – vod. In my article I will show to what extent the three major broadcasters in Poland use the content delivery network. The fact that theirs productions are distributed in the network is unquestionable. It is worth to consider the extent of this phenomenon. The article analyzes the internet video services: vod.tvp.pl, IPLA, TVN Player owned in sequence by TVP, TV Polsat and TVN.

Opis:: Podstawowe rodzaje usług w sieciach LAN, obejmujące transfer plików czy pocztę elektroniczną, realizowane są przy wykorzystaniu mechanizmu typu best-effort, umożliwiającego dynamiczny dostęp do przepustowości kosztem obniżenia jakości usług ze względu na ograniczoną przepływność informacyjną w medium transmisyjnym. Wprowadzenie usług multimedialnych, takich jak interaktywne usługi wideofoniczne, wiąże się z koniecznością wykorzystania klasy usług VBR (Variable Bit Rate) zdefiniowanych dla techniki ATM, charakteryzujących się zmienną prędkością transmisji komórek i wymagających określonych zasobów sieci na ich realizację. Zasoby te rezerwowane są przez użytkownika w trakcie zestawiania połączenia w formie kontraktu z siecią. Zatwierdzenie warunków kontraktu powoduje rezerwację określonych zasobów sieci niezależnie od tego, czy są one faktycznie wykorzystywane - prowadzi to do małej efektywności wykorzystania dostępnych zasobów sieci. Zastosowanie w sieciach LAN mechanizmu transmisji typu best-effort umożliwia wykorzystanie także innych klas usług, takich jak ABR (Available Bit Rate) czy UBR (Unspecified Bit Rate), które podlegają znacznej degradacji w przypadku realizacji wideopołączenia za pomocą usługi typu VBR. W celu zapewnienia sprawiedliwego dostępu do zasobów, przy zachowaniu określonego poziomu jakości realizacji usługi wideofonicznej, wymagane jest informowanie źródła aplikacji wideo o aktualnie dostępnych zasobach. Możliwość taką stwarza wykorzystanie klasy usług ABR, dla której źródło usługi zmienia szybkość transmisji zależnie od sytuacji panującej w sieci. Niezbędna jest równocześnie modyfikacja zachowania źródła aplikacji wideo, polegająca na zmianie szybkości generowania ramek wideo na podstawie informacji przekazywanych przez usługę ABR. Umożliwi to efektywne wykorzystanie udostępnionych zasobów sieci, nawet w przypadku znacznego jej obciążenia. W artykule przedstawiono mechanizm wykorzystania informacji o stanie sieci przekazywanych przez usługę ABR do modyfikacji parametrów źródła aplikacji wideo oraz jego implementację w środowisku badawczym. Zaprezentowano również wyniki uzyskane w eksperymentach realizowanych z wykorzystaniem programu symulacyjnego.
Basic types of services in LAN networks include transfer of files as well as electronic mail, which are executed with the help of the "best-effort" mechanism providing dynamic access to the capacity at the expense of a decrease in service quality due to the limited flow of information in the transmission medium. Introducing multimedia services such as interactive video services requires application of Variable Bit Rate (VBR) class services defined for ATM technology which is characterized with a variable transmission speed of cells and necessary specific network resources for their implementation. The user reserves these resources during connection set up in form of a specific contract with the network. The approval of this contract conditions causes the reservation of specific network resources regardless of whether they are used, leading to low efficiency of exploitation of the available network resources. Using the "best-effort" transmission mechanism in LAN networks allows also for using other service classes, such as ABR (Available Bit Rate) or UBR (Unspecified Bit Rate) which undergo a considerable degeneration in the case of executing a video connection with the VBR service. It is required to inform the video application source of currently available resources to guarantee fair access to resourceswhile maintaining a specific level of quality of the video service execution. Such a possibility creates application of the ABR class service, for which the service source modifies the transmission speed depending on the situation in the network. Modifying the behaviour of video application is also essential, which consists in changing the speed of generating video frames based on the information transferred by the ABR service. This will allow for effective usage of the available network resources even in the cases of network considerable load. The paper presents the mechanism of using network status information transferred by the ABR service for modification of the video application source parameters as well as its implementation in a testing environment. The results obtained in experiments conducted with the use of a simulation program have been shown.

Opis:: This paper is dedicated to the subject of measuring QoS in the Video Telephony over IP (VToIP) service. QoS measurement models in general and then models designed specifically for measuring QoS in the VToIP service are presented. A new numerical tool for examining the quality of VToIP video streams VToIP is described. The tool’s functionality is then put to the test in a number of analysis scenarios. The results and insights gained from the analyses are then presented in several diagrams, and interpreted. The paper concludes with a summary and an outlook on further areas of work.
