The technique comes in almost all areas of human life, tying a person inextricably, which requires a change in the concept of the practice of thinking and acting. Thus, forcing a man to actively explore new technologies, equipments, machines, tools and use them in everyday life. It is important that this knowledge is structured, grounded and connected not only with practical action, but with technical thinking, which will allow for the proper functioning of the students in their daily lives. Technical thinking has a conceptually-imaginative nature, and its development is possible when we provide innovative thinking and creative teachers, pay attention to the selection of appropriate tasks and practical actions.

The world of technology can be a tool to support development processes, primarily cognitive, emotional and motivational. Adoption issues shaping the image function in the technical thinking of students is justified in many ways: a – impact on the develop-ment of human image; b – multidimensional image and diversity of its media resourc-es; c – the influence of the image on shaping the attitudes and behaviors of education; d – state of research on the evolution of technical thinking of youth. Development of the technical thinking is one of the objectives in the process of technical education. A picture taking part in it by building concepts and technical imagination fulfilling a significant role in the illustration and understanding of issues and technical products and the specific technical action. Technical education requires from teachers to enter a wide range of activities in the teaching process in the direction of the effective appli-cation and the use of image in the development of technical thinking and imagination of students. Pictures have a prominent role here.

Opis:

The efficiency of the aircraft exploitation process is a problem, to which more and more attention is paid not only in the commercial aviation, but also in the military one. One of the factors, which have a direct impact on its level, is the operated aircraft or helicopter technical readiness that is the ability of airworthiness when there is a need to use them in order to perform specific aviation tasks. In turn, the aircraft technical readiness level is affected by a number of factors, the most important of which include its characteristics, technical service system and logistical security system. This paper is devoted to the issue connected with the aircraft technical readiness assessment as well as identification of factors, which have an impact on its level, and also their impact level analysis. Furthermore, the particular attention was paid to technical services. The research results of a few types of aircraft in terms of the technical service malfunction and damage impact on their technical readiness level were also presented. At the end, the importance of such an approach and the possible use in practice were emphasised.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the language and structure of technical documentationon the example of IBM official documentation for the Tivoli Service AutomationManager software, and to prove that the writing techniques, guidelines, tools,and processes that are used in document creation make this documentation usable, readable,retrievable and translatable.This thesis consists of three chapters:Chapter 1 provides a theoretical background to technical communication with afocus on technical writing for software. Technical communication is defined, and thehistorical background is presented. The process of creating technical documentation forsoftware is described in detail, also taking into consideration the factors that influenceits final shape, such as output format, the use of markup languages, and the process oftranslation. The most common principles for writing technical documentation are alsooutlined.Chapter 2 describes documentation that is created in IBM. It focuses on the processesthat govern document creation in IBM, and on the writing and publishing toolsthat are available to writers.Chapter 3 focuses on the analysis of the official technical documentation forTivoli Service Automation Manager, a complex software aimed at IT industry. Thestructure of this documentation is described, and the analysis criteria are outlined. Then,documentation is analyzed against the presented criteria, with multiple examples fromthe text included.The results of the analysis show that the documentation created in IBM helps thesoftware user to find the required information easily, comprehend it, and use it to completea specific task that the user needs to complete.
Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza języka i struktury dokumentacji technicznej naprzykładzie oficjalnej dokumentacji IBM dla oprogramowania Tivoli SoftwareAutomation Manager, oraz udowodnienie, że zastosowane w tworzeniu tejdokumentacji techniki pisania, wytyczne, narzędzia oraz procesy sprawiają, że jest onaużyteczna, czytelna, łatwo znaleźć pożądane informacje, oraz przetłumaczyć tekst.Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów:Rozdział 1 zawiera podstawy teoretyczne komunikacji technicznej, skupiając sięna dokumentacji technicznej dla oprogramowania. Przytoczono definicję komunikacjitechnicznej oraz jej historyczne podłoże. Proces tworzenia dokumentacji technicznej dlaoprogramowania został opisany w szczegółach, biorąc również pod uwagę czynnikiwpływające na jej ostateczny kształt, takie jak forma publikacji, użycie językówznaczników, oraz proces tłumaczenia. Przytoczone zostały również najpowszechniejszew dziedzinie IT zasady tworzenia dokumentacji technicznej.Rozdział 2 opisuje dokumentację tworzoną w IBM, a w szczególności procesyktórym podlega tworzenie dokumentacji oraz narzędzia którymi posługują się autorzy.Rozdział 3 zawiera analizę oficjalnej dokumentacji dla Tivoli ServiceAutomation Manager, kompleksowego oprogramowania skierowanego do branży IT.Opisano strukturę tej dokumentacji, oraz kryteria analizy. Następnie dokumentacjazostała zanalizowana pod kątem wspomnianych kryteriów, przytoczono również liczneprzykłady z tekstu.Wyniki analizy wskazują iż dokumentacja tworzona w IBM pomagaużytkownikom oprogramowania łatwo zlokalizować i zrozumieć potrzebne informacje,a następnie zastosować je w celu wykonania wymaganego zadania.

Opis:

The COVID-19 pandemic has been an extraordinary event for the EU Member States and a period wherein EU legislation and the efficiency of EU institutions have been put to the test. The crisis triggered by the decisions made by governments in Europe (which were motivated by their wishes to protect the health and lives of their peoples and to satisfy the rapid demand for drugs, personal protective equipment, and medical devices) disrupted market forces. Although most of these measures were based on both domestic and EU legislation, they seriously hindered the smooth functioning of the EU Single Market, including the free movement of goods. This paper aims to find out whether EU legislation succeeded in coping with the challenges triggered by COVID-19 in the field of international trade and whether measures taken by the European Commission with a view to complying with the rules of the EU Single Market adequately took care of the needs stemming from the COVID-19 outbreak and whether it properly tackled protectionist instruments adopted by the Member States. We have focused on international trade and the free movement of goods within the EU as they both constitute the cornerstone of EU economic integration. We found that although EU legislation was not tailored specifically for the times of a COVID-19 pandemic, in the area of international trade (including intra-EU trade), as well as in the field of placing goods on the market, it provided extraordinary solutions. Apparently, the explanations and guidelines provided by the Commission have limited the scope of individual protectionist and interventionist actions of the Member States.

Opis:

In the process of developing innovative technical products it is difficult to constantly assess those products considering the factors influencing the possibility of their implementation into economy. The aim of the article is to propose the methodology to assess risk management during implementation of innovative technical products designed by both, research institutions and enterprises. The problems linked with the implementation of the products were identified. The author also identified key risk groups and undesirable situations. Moreover, the way to determine the probability of undesirable situations occurrence was indicated. The proposed methodology was verified based on more than 100 innovative technical products from Innovative Systems of Technical Support for Sustainable Development of Economy Strategic Research Programme. Strong and weak points of the methodology were identified. Among advantages, the possibility of assessing in different timeframes and applying homogeneous criteria of the assessment were pointed. The lack of possibility to obtain aggregated result and inability of full result objectivity due to the use of semi-quantitative method were recognized.

Considering the great social demand for qualified technically oriented workers, it is necessary to develop the interest in technical fields. The article introduces research focused on mapping the current situation of (non)interest of primary-school students in technical fields and especially verification of whether the (non)interest is linked to the popularity of technically oriented subjects at primary schools. Opis:

The most important problem of operation of all technical objects (devices) is the problem of rational (optimum) decision control of the process of technical state changes of the objects. Such control can be realized when a model of the process of technical stale chanŹges is applied. In view of this, a formal description of the operational process of technical objects was presented in this paper, as well as it was justified that the model of the process may be a semi-Markovian process of finite set of states. Examples of 4-and 3-state semiŹ-Markovian process were given as a model of the above mentioned process of state chanŹges of any device. Difficulties associated with forming such model, which arise from application of the theory of semi-Markovian processes, were indicated. Therefore the proposed model is the semi-Markovian process whose values are technical states occurring in the phase of operation of many technical objects of practical importance (e.g. combustion piston engines, turbines, displacement and rotary compressors, impeller pumps etc).

Opis:

Technical support and management over sales process in enterprise oriented on customer particular technical demands, require new approach in current economic environment. In the face of strong competition and tendency for costs reductions of offered technical solutions, especially with low materials value - the key task is reducing cost of technical support and sales service. It is possible by reduction of time spent by specialist working out typical, simple but time consuming the most popular queries from the customers. To this end, in existing enterprise proper project was undertaken aimed at developing a computer system integrating modules of technical knowledge data base of offered solutions as well sales and customer relationship management. The subject of the paper is the company information structure-oriented integrated system of conscious resource management. Prototype version of system was developed and is running, up to full operational stage of the system, information about exact worked solution are prohibited for publishing. Worked solution is unique on the market in the range of fixing systems what a reason to limit outgoing detailed information is. Achieved prototypes generates impressive output, with reduction of 70 [%] of time necessary to designs the same solutions with traditional tools. Quantity of mistakes on product list is almost gone, and quality of designed solutions also is significantly improved with very precise and detailed drawings. Initial results allow confirming that commence of this project it was right decision.

One of the problems becoming increasingly important in the exploitation process of each technical object is effectiveness expressed as a ratio of the value of obtained results to the related expenditure. There are several criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of the exploitation process. However, in their selection, it is necessary to take into account the characteristics not only connected with a concrete object or system, but also with a model of its use. In civil aviation, especially in case of airlines and various kinds of service companies, the effectiveness of exploitation system of the aircraft fleet is assessed primarily in economic terms. However, in military aviation, due to its characteristics, slightly different criteria must be applied. In practice, the effectiveness of such systems is usually assessed based on the index of technical exploitation readiness, which specifies the system readiness to execute the agreed tasks within predetermined time. This paper presents selected aspects of technical readiness related to the exploitation system of trainer aircraft in military aviation. The issues connected with determining the total flying time, conducted within the framework of the training cycle, are discussed. The factors affecting the state of technical readiness related to the exploitation system of the aviation technology as well as methods for determining the required number of aircraft to perform the tasks planned for a given period and the index of available service life resources.

In this paper author introduces problem of the reduction of diagnostic information in evolution condition machine for estimating state prognosis algorithms which are the basis for determining conclusion rules for estimating the next machine operation term and for state genesis which is the basis for rules creating of machine state estimation in the past. Automation of the investigation system of the evolution of the technical systems machines condition in which diagnosing distinguishes itself of prognose of the state and the genesis of the state requires the qualifications of the gathering of diagnostic parameters describing the change of the condition of the machine during exploitation. The results of investigations connected with the implementation of the procedures of monitoring the technical machine engines condition and their investigation for the chosen arrangements of mechanical vehicles were introduced.

The basis for the organization of diagnosis of conditions in the facility is the current status of the object. Determined in the process of diagnosing the information about the state of the object is a generalization of the set of all its components.

The paper analyses the assessment of the technical condition of vehicles at technical inspection stations in the Slovak Republic in the period of 2007-2019. There are described the legislative conditions for assessment of the technical condition of vehicles at technical inspections stations in the Slovak Republic. Data from technical inspections and defects within all technical inspection stations was recorded in the nationwide information system. These data was used as base for the next analysis. This paper also describes the possibilities for detection of deficiencies at technical inspection stations, and in the final part the impact of expert supervision on the operation of the selected technical inspection stations was analysed. The paper also examines significant factors affecting the assessment of the technical condition of vehicles at technical inspection stations in the Slovak Republic. The first factor represents legislative measures introducing more sophisticated technical means to control technical inspection stations, and the second factor is technical supervision by supervisory authorities over technical inspection stations.

This paper develops a static model of endogenous task-based technical progress to study how factor scarcity induces technological progress and changes in factor prices. The equilibrium technology is multi-dimensional and not strongly factorsaving in the sense of Acemoglu (2010). Nevertheless, labour scarcity induces labour productivity growth. There is a  weak but no strong absolute equilibrium bias. This model provides a plausible interpretation of the famous contention of Hicks (1932) about the role of factor prices and factor endowments for induced innovations. It may serve as a microfoundation for canonical macro-economic models. Moreover, it accommodates features like endogenous factor supplies and a binding minimum wage.

Súčasná moderná doba vyžaduje, aby sa v rámci vyučovacieho procesu využívali nielen klasické vyučovacie metódy, ale aj netradičné metódy, postupy a prostriedky, ktoré dokážu žiakov aktivizovať k samostatnej práci a k hľadaniu vhodných riešení problémov, zároveň podporujú rozvoj logického, analytického a tvorivého myslenia. Samostatná práca, ako edukačný prostriedok má výrazný vplyv na prejav a rozvoj ich aktivity, samostatnosti a tvorivosti. Je pravda, že samostatná práca ponúka žiakom rôzne možnosti, čo však neznamená, že každý žiak bude na dané ponuky reagovať rovnako podnetne. Pre pedagogickú prax to znamená nachádzať vzťahy medzi uplatnením samostatnej práce, štýlom učenia sa žiaka a na základe získaných skúseností určiť, resp. zhodnotiť pedagogické situácie, v ktorých bude pôsobiť, ako prostriedok rozvoja technického myslenia a technických schopností žiakov.
Contemporary modern times require that there are not only traditional teaching methods used within the educational process, but also non-traditional methods, procedures and instruments that can mobilize students to work independently and to seek appropriate solutions to problems while supporting the development of logical, analytical and creative thinking. Independent work as an educational resource has a significant effect on the expression and development of their activities, independence and creativity. It is true that independent work offers students a variety of options, but that does not mean that every student will respond to the educational stimuli as well as incen-tivized. For teaching practice, this means finding the relations between usage of independent work and student learning styles. And, based on experience gained, to determine (i.e. evaluate) educa-tional situations in which it will act as a means of developing the technical thinking and technical skills of students.

Technická neverbálna komunikácie predstavuje druh komunikácie medzi jednotlivcami pomocou grafických obrazov – technických výkresov. Pri ich tvorbe žiaci a aj učitelia musia dodržiavať základné pravidlá dané technickou normou. Úspešná technická grafická komunikácia závisí aj od zručností a vedomostí, ktoré si žiaci osvojili na vyučovacích hodinách geometrie. Porovnaním výsledkov testov zameraných na technickú grafickú komunikáciu s celoplošným testovaním Testovanie 9 – testovanie matematických kompetencií, sme zisťovali príčiny nízkej úspešnosti žiakov v sledovanej oblasti.
Technical nonverbal commucation represents a form of communication among individuals carried out by the means of graphic images – technical drawings. During the process of drawing both learners and teachers have to follow the basic rules given in the technical standards. Successful technical communication also depends upon the skills and knowledge the learners have acquired in the geometry class. By the means of comparison of the tests results focused on technical graphic communication in the framework of the blanket testing „Testing 9 – mathematical competences testing” we studied the reasons of the low success rate of the learners in the examined area.

Ostatni akapit artykułu przedstawia sposób załadunku uszkodzonych pojazdów KTO Rosomak na prototypową platformę.
Evacuation is an important part of technical support in army tactics. There should be plans and equipment for the evacuation of every vehicle which is in use in the army. The paper shows the prototype of a wheeled vehicle for technical support. It presents the typical ways of evacuating damaged vehicles in off road conditions. The final part of the article discusses the new type of platform and shows how easy it can be to load a damaged KTO Rosomak on it with evacuation equipment.

This master thesis aims at presentation of the theoretical basics of technical communication and technical writing as well as practical guidelines on writing technical documentation, with special emphasis being placed on the Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) and principles of effective writing observed by technical writers of Motorola Solutions with regard to user manuals. The concept and features of technical communication as well as types of technical documents have been broadly described on the basis of the literature of the subject. The thesis also presents standards of technical writing established by IBM with special attention being paid to DITA data model for creating and publishing technical content. Next a comprehensive account of Motorola Solutions’ principles of effective writing is provided. The thesis ends up with the analysis of sample user manuals created by Motorola Solutions’ technical writers in order to verify how technical writing standards are realised in practice.
Niniejsza praca magisterska ma na celu zaprezentowanie teoretycznych podstaw komunikacji techniczej i technical writing (dziedzina dotycząca pisania tekstów technicznych) oraz praktycznych wytycznych na temat tworzenia dokumentów technicznych, ze szczególnym naciskiem na model danych DITA (the Darwin Information Typing Architecture) i zasady efektywnego pisania stosowane przez technical writerów firmy Motorola Solutions w odniesieniu do instrukcji obsługi. Na podstawie literatury przedmiotu przedstawiono pojęcie i cechy komunikacji technicznej wraz z opisem poszczególnych typów dokumentów technicznych. W pracy zaprezentowano również standardy technical writing wprowadzone przez IBM, skupiając się przede wszystkim na modelu danych DITA przeznaczonym do tworzenia i publikowania treści technicznych. Następnie zasady efektywnego pisania obowiązujące w firmie Motorola Solutions zostały szczegółowo przedstawione. Ostatnia część pracy obejmuje analizę przykładowych instrukcji obsługi powstałych w firmie Motorola Solutions w celu sprawdzenia jak standardy technical writing są realizowane w praktyce.

Opis:

In this article the results of the generalization of the essence of the process of reproduction of material and technical base and material and technical resources in agriculture, assessment of their condition and use, studying the level of organization of the system for providing these resources of agricultural producers, and substantiating ways to improve it, are highlighted. In agriculture ensuring of the overall reproduction process depends crucially on ensuring the effective implementation of a qualitative reproduction of its material and technical base. At present, the level of agricultural supply of Ukraine by material and technical resources, their structure and level of efficiency of use and the system of their reproduction leave much to be desired. The main factors of unsatisfactory state of the material and technical base of agriculture and its reproduction in Ukraine are: low investment attractiveness of agricultural enterprises; the absence of a state technical policy and a well-established system of material and technical support in the country; lack of financing of scientific research in the field of production of machinery and equipment and their use in agriculture; low-quality storage of agricultural machinery; lack of training system for working on complex agricultural machinery and its maintenance; difficult financial and economic situation of domestic factories producing agricultural machinery and its low quality. The main directions of solving the problem of expanded reproduction of the material and technical base of agricultural enterprises are the objective regulation of the parity of prices for agricultural and industrial products, the change of depreciation policy in order to increase its importance for accelerating the modernization of technical and technological processes, reforming the domestic agricultural sector of the economy, state assistance development of domestic agricultural machine-building and tractor construction in cooperation with foreign enterprises, creation of a system of repair and maintenance services and the proper infrastructure of the market of agricultural machinery and training system for working with agricultural machinery. A real step in this direction could be the decision to implement budget allocations for the technical reequipment of Ukrainian agricultural producers and the development of infrastructure of the agricultural machinery market at the rate of at least one percent of the amount of the expenditure part of the state budget. It is also worth raising of funds for research in the field of development and improvement of agricultural machinery, equipment and tractors in order to increase their competitiveness.

Opis:

In this paper possibility to assess safety of floating docks as a result of application of the theory of semi-Markov processes both in the phase of their designing and operating, is outlined. Formal description of the situations which may occur during service of floating docks both those intended for building and repairing the ships, was presented. The following situations were distinguished : normal, complicated, hazardous, emergency and disastrous. A model of changing the distinguished situations was proposed in the form of a semi - Markov process with discrete set of states, and continuous with time. The mentioned situations are values of the process. An operational safety measure for dock was formulated in the form of the probability of the event consisting in occurrence of normal or complicated situation. It was proved that assessment of probability of occurrence of particular situations is possible.

W tej wypowiedzi, poświęconej relacji pomiędzy humanistyką (filozofią w szczególności) i uczelnią techniczną analizuję paradoks, który powstaje przy jednoczesnej akceptacji czterech twierdzeń: (1) politechniki coraz wyraźniej wykazują aspiracje uniwersyteckie i nabywają cech uniwersytetu; (2) nieodłączną częścią klasycznego uniwersytetu są nauki społeczne i humanistyczne, w tym filozofia; (3) na całym świecie odnotowuje się głęboki kryzys klasycznego uniwersytetu oraz zanik legitymizacji społecznej dla życia poświęconego badaniom humanistycznym; (4) to właśnie mentalność i cywilizacja techniczna jest odpowiedzialna za ten kryzys. Staram się usunąć ten paradoks przez wykazanie fałszywości stwierdzenia (4). W konkluzji stwierdzam nie tyle odwrót od humanistyki, co nihilistyczną tendencję obecną w stosunku nowoczesnych społeczeństw do wiedzy w ogóle.
In this report, devoted to the relation between the humanities (especially philosophy) and technical high schools, I analyse the paradox emerging when four claims are accepted: (1) technical high schools demonstrate more and more clearly university aspirations and get properties of the university; (2) the humanities and social sciences are an inherent part of the classical university; (3) in all the world a deep crisis of the classical university occurs; also the social legitimization of the life disinterestingly concentrated on knowledge disappears; (4) the technical mentality and the technical civilization are responsible for this crisis. It is easily seen that the last claim is contradictory to the first one. I try to indicate the sources of this paradox by demonstrating the falsity of claim (4). In conclusion, I maintain a real nihilistic tendency present in the attitude of modern societies toward knowledge.

Opis:

The article is a summary of the extensive research into a technical competence and technical profession preference of the senior primary grades. In total, 1650 pupils from 6th, 7th and 8th grades of the Moravian Silesian Region of the Czech Republic participated in the survey. Standard psycho-diagnostic methods were used. In addition, a new method for measurement of technical and practical comprehension was created. Our results show that there are no differences between girls and boys in intellectual abilities within the frame of single subtests. However, statistically significant differences only appear in psychomotor tempos kills and visual perception in favor of girls. Boys have got higher performance in the test of technical and practical understanding.

Praca dotyczy problemu interpretacji zmian parametrów diagnostycznych, które mogą być opisane krzywymi zużycia, podczas identyfikacji stanu technicznego elementów pojazdów. W artykule przedstawiono szczegółową definicję formalną klasycznej krzywej zużycia, uwzględniającą waru-nek równości pochodnych na końcach przyległych obszarów, przez które ona przebiega. Podano również przykład wektorowej interpretacji stanu technicznego zestawu kołowego pojazdu szynowego w przypadku uwzględnienia dwu parametrów diagnostycznych - grubości obręczy i grubości obrzeża koła.
The paper deals with an interpretation problem of diagnostic parameter changes during the identification of the technical condition of vehicle elements. These parameters may be characterized by wear curves. The paper presents a detail formal definition of a classical wear curve with equality condition of derivatives at the ends of adjacent areas crossed over by that curve. Vector interpretation of the technical condition of a vehicle wheel set in case when two diagnostic parameters, the rim thickness and the wheel edge thickness, were taken into consideration is shown as example.

Moja praca polegała na porównaniu dwóch umów (tłumaczeń z języka polskiego na język niemiecki) o uszlachetnianie tkanin.Cała praca składa się z dwóch części: teoretycznej oraz praktycznej. W części teoretycznej zajmuje się tematem jakim jest język fachowy, jego definicje i znaczenie, a także tekstami fachowymi, jakie jest ich znaczenie, jaki jest podział tekstów fachowych jak również przedstawiam „umowę” jako przykład tekstu fachowego.W dalszych rozdziałach części teoretycznej zajmuję się problematyką tłumaczeń języka fachowego, oraz zadaję pytanie do czego potrzebny jest właściwie język fachowy w dzisiejszym świecie. Praktyczna część pracy polega na porównaniu dwóch umów o uszlachetnianie tkanin wraz z ich tłumaczeniami w języku niemieckim. W tej części chciałam przedstawić podobieństwa i różnice w tłumaczeniach umów bazujących na tym samym temacie. Ostatnim punktem pracy jest podsumowanie w którym próbuję odpowiedzieć na pytanie czy istnieje idealne tłumaczenie oraz idealny tłumacz.
My Master Thesis’s aim is to compare two contracts (translation from Polish into German) on textile finishing. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part.The theoretical part discusses techinical terminology, its definition, significance and meaning as well as presents a trade agreement as an example the professional text. The issues that arise during professional language translation are also discussed and I am trying to give an asnwer on what the techinical language is needed for in the current world. The practical part compares two agreements on textile finishing along with their translations into German. This section tries to highlight similarities and differences in two translations of a contract for the same services. The last paragraph’ aim is to summarize and answer the question whether a perfect translation is achievable and a perfect translator exists.

Quaternary wellbores are very liable to rapid drops of hydraulic efficiency mainly caused by clogging processes and the corrosion of the wellbore structure. The presence of such processes and their intensity largely depend on the hydrogeochemical conditions of the intaken aquifer and also the production rate and extraction method of a given wellbore. Among the major factors slowing down the hydraulic intensity are a correctly designed well, especially the properly selected type and design of the filter. A well designed wellbore filter should have low hydraulic resistance of the inflowing water and be resistant to clogging and corrosion in the given hydrochemical conditions. This allows for long and failure-free extraction of large high-production wells. The results of analyses of the effect of intake wellbore design on its hydraulic efficiency are presented in the paper. The intake wells producing Quaternary waters for waterworks in the southern part of Łódź were analyzed.

Opis:

In the present paper, the authors have analyzed the technical requirements for military vehicles acquired by way of purchase or research and development works on road, air and rail transportability. The issue of defining technical requirements has been addressed, since they are crucial elements of qualification tests. Transportability requirements verify a vehicle’s suitability for various types of transport, its adaptation to loading and the strength of its brackets. The authors have reviewed the normative documents on the transportability of military vehicles, based on which the analysis was carried out in the context of current technical requirements. The article also deals with issues related to vehicle’s transportability examinations. This type of testing is carried out at the Armored Combat Vehicle Laboratory at the Military Institute of Armored and Automotive Technology in Sulejówek. The authors have also discussed the possibilities of the application of reverse engineering in transportability examinations.

In the paper selected problems related to diagnostics of onboard generators and alternators fitted with control systems are discussed. Problems refer to commutator generators and synchronous single- and threephase alternators. Special attention is paid to commutation effects. Results of incorrectness and possibility to detect them are discussed. There are also discussed effects associated with changes in a character of pulsation, which occur during shortings or insulation clearances in rotor or stator wiring. Possibility of diagnosis of generator’s or alternator’s parts by means of analysis of pulsation component parameters is indicated. In the case of alternators a number of diagnostic methods based on observation of changes in shape of voltage or frequency modulation, is discussed. This allows to detect many mechanical or electrical faults of generators, alternators or their control systems.

Since 1st of January 2017 new rules introducing construction products on the national market , which are not subjected to CE marking will come into force. Instead of technical approval, national technical assessment which will concern the performance of a construction product, will be introduced. The national declaration of conformity will be replaced by the national declaration of performance. The article presents new requirements and considers their impact on the market of construction products in the context of the current practice.

Gotowość bojowa okrętu jest w znacznym stopniu uzależniona od zdatności technicznej podstawowych urządzeń i mechanizmów okrętowych. Zdatność techniczna określona jest normami eksploatacyjnymi i uzależniona jest od stanu technicznego urządzeń. W trakcie użytkowania sprzętu wojskowego liczyć się należy z zużywaniem się urządzeń na skutek starzenia fizycznego, powstawania uszkodzeń eksploatacyjnych lub zniszczeń bojowych. Odtwarzanie zdatności technicznej okrętu realizowane jest po powrocie do portu, i podczas działań na morzu. W portach i bazach morskich zadania związane z odtwarzaniem zdatności technicznej realizowane są przez brzegowe elementy systemu remontowego. Podczas realizacji zadań na morzu załoga okrętu jest w stanie w ograniczonym zakresie, przy wykorzystaniu okrętowych zestawów remontowych, dokonać podstawowych obsług technicznych oraz napraw. Odtwarzanie sprawności i zdatności technicznej urządzeń okrętowych jest uzależnione od właściwego zabezpieczenia logistycznego tego procesu.
A ship’s combat readiness is significantly dependent on the technical worthiness of basic ship equipment and mechanisms. Technical worthiness is determined by operation rates and depends on the condition of equipment. While using military equipment, one may expect the wear and tear of systems resulting from physical ageing, operation or combat damage. The restoration of ship’s technical efficiency is completed after returning to the harbour or during operations at sea. The tasks of restoring technical efficiency are performed in harbours and in naval bases by ashore elements of the repair system. During operations at sea a crew is able, to a limited extent, to carry out basic technical maintenance. The restoration of the technical worthiness and efficiency of ship equipment depends on appropriate logistic support.

Opis:

Exploitation of means of transport is an important decision issue for transport companies that perform transport tasks. The means of transport during their operation lose their functional properties, which mean that they require technical service and repairs. The components of operating costs of means of transport are expenditures incurred for servicing and expenditures incurred for repairs. As the first cost component increases, the other will decrease and vice versa. We obtain the optimal economic effect of the means of transport when the sum of costs reaches the minimum value. The article presents the problems of optimization of the technical service system. This required identification of technical services and basic parameters characterizing the operation system. On this basis, a mathematical approach to the problem of modelling the maintenance system is presented, including the decision variables, constraints and the criterion function. The identification of the problem of modelling the technical service system is presented in the case study for modelling the technical service of means of transport – buses in the company providing passenger transport services in public transport.

After the outbreak of the Great War, a discussion on the role of the school system in the reconstruction of the independent Polish state started in the Warsaw-based Stowarzyszenie Techników Polskich (Association of Polish Technicians). The research on the contents of Przegląd Techniczny (Technical Review), which was a magazine published by that organization, shows that the editors saw the relationship between professional education and industrial development of the state, free from restrictions imposed by the invaders, and, as a result, published notes and articles to convince the society about the need to educate teenagers in occupational schools. Thus, they informed the readers on the operation of schools of that type and various initiatives and forms of technical education and improvement, most of all in Warsaw. They also presented their own projects in that area. Supporting the organization of the technical education system, they proposed three-year lower occupational schools for professional education of workmen, secondary schools educating “intelligent technicians adapted to the needs of the industry”, and higher technical schools conferring a title of the engineer on their graduates.

Technical culture is the value of each historical period. It is the subject of the ongo-ing development. The primary task is to define the concept of the technical culture and to show its teach-ing essence. A work with the modelling material is incorporated in the framework education programme even for the nursery school and also for primary schools. Opis:

Alkali-silica reaction (ASR) is a reaction between amorphous or poorly crystallized siliceous phase, present in aggregates, and sodium and potassium hydroxides in the pore solution of concrete. Chemical admixtures such as lithium compounds are known to have high potential of inhibiting ASR. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of lithium nitrate on ASR in mortars containing high reactive opal aggregate over a long period of time. Mortar bar expansion tests were performed and microstructures of mortar bars were observed by scanning electron microscopy coupled with an energy dispersive X-ray microanalyser. Results from this study showed that effectiveness of lithium nitrate in mitigating ASR was limited over a long period of time. A larger amount of ASR gel which was formed in the presence of lithium nitrate indicated that the deterioration processes intensify within longer periods of time, which so far has not been observed in literature. Microscopic observation confirmed the presence of alkali-silica gel and delayed ettringite in mortars with lithium nitrate.

After the 2008 financial crisis, many investors diversified their portfolios with different commodities, including the so-called softs. This paper aims to answer the question of whether individual investors can benefit from technical analysis on soft commodity markets. The empirical study is based on daily quotations of six soft commodities: coffee, cocoa, sugar, cotton, rubber and frozen concentrated orange juice from 2010 to 2018, and investigates the profitability of applying indicators and oscillators based on moving averages with different length. The results show that the application of five-day simple and weighted moving averages and momentum oscillators was most effective, providing positive returns in five out of six soft commodities markets.
Od czasu kryzysu finansowego z 2008 roku wielu inwestorów dywersyfikuje swoje portfele poprzez włączenie do nich towarów w tym tzw. soft commodities. Celem niniejszej pracy jest odpowiedź na pytanie, czy inwestorzy indywidualni mogą osiągać zyski w wyniku zastosowania analizy technicznej na rynkach soft commodities. Podstawę przeprowadzonych badań empirycznych stanowią dzienne notowania sześciu towarów z grupy soft commodities: kawy, kakao, cukru, bawełny, kauczuku i mrożonego koncentratu soku pomarańczowego, w okresie od 2010 do 2018 roku. Ich celem jest ocena efektywności zastosowania wybranych wskaźników i oscylatorów opartych na średnich ruchomych o różnej długości. Otrzymane wyniki pokazują, że w badanym okresie najbardziej efektywne było wykorzystanie pięciodniowych prostych i ważonych średnich ruchomych oraz oscylatora Momentum, przynosząc pozytywne rezultaty na pięciu z sześciu analizowanych rynków soft commodities.

Prawidłowe realizowanie głównych zadań zabezpieczenia technicznego przez Regionalne Bazy Logistyczne jest gwarantem utrzymania w odpowiedniej sprawności sprzętu wojskowego eksploatowanego w jednostkach i instytucjach wojskowych. Stacjonarne organy remontowe RBLog realizują zadania obsługowo-naprawcze w sposób planowy oraz nieplanowy jako naprawy bieżące. Ważnym elementem dobrze funkcjonującego podsystemu technicznego jest sprawne zaopatrywanie w techniczne środki materiałowe, właściwe planowanie zadań obsługowo-naprawczych, a także monitorowanie sprawności sprzętu technicznego w jednostkach i instytucjach wojskowych, co pozwala w odpowiednim czasie podjąć działania naprawcze i usprawnić sprzęt wojskowy.
Ensuring the security of the country and its citizens by having a well-trained Armed Forces will only be effective if the equipment and military equipment used is modern, properly modernized and adapted to the needs of the modern/future battlefield and, above all, maintained at a high level of efficiency. Proper implementation of the main tasks of technical security by the Regional Logistics Bases is a guarantee that the military equipment used in military units and institutions will be maintained in proper efficiency. The stationary repair bodies of the Regional Logistics Bases carry out maintenance and repair tasks in a planned manner and not as current repairs. An important element of a well-functioning technical subsystem is the efficient supply of technical material, proper planning of maintenance and repair tasks, as well as monitoring the efficiency of technical equipment in military units and institutions, which allows to take timely corrective actions and improve military equipment.

Opis:

The present paper discusses relations between meaning and context as an interactive process that promotes cognition and communication, both intralingual and interlingual. The article also studies two evident conflicting tendencies in the development of technical language: metaphorization and standardization. Metaphorical meaning extension is characteristic of technical vocabulary in all discourse domains. At the same time, contemporary development of corpus linguistics facilitates standardization of terms. Taking into account pragmatic aspects of the text environment, i.e. referential, situational, cultural and social contexts, language users can interpret the meaning of new terms, establish relations and interconnections between terms and concepts within a text, domain and entire scientific and technical discourse. In the present article, observations on the nature and application of contemporary technical terminology are made on the basis of extensive empirical research.

Opis:

The global objective of this research was determining the relations between anthropometric variables with success in judo bout. The research was conducted on a sample of 122 subjects. The sample of variables consisted of 18 anthropometric measures, out of which three latent dimensions were isolated by the use of factor analysis. Three latent dimensions (factors) represent a set of predictive variables. Criterion is defined as a success in judo bout and it is represented by two criteria variables; number of wins and technical efficiency in judo bout. To test the relations of latent anthropometric variables with success in the bout the regression analysis was used. Statistically significant but low connections were found between anthropometric variables and the two criteria. As only the factor volume and mass of the body partially contribute to the explanation of criteria, one can conclude that the active muscle mass is in the background of achieved connection.

Opis:

In Hungary in the event of disasters and technical rescue, the interventions and rescue services of fire protection are carried out by the fire department and the firefighters within the system of disaster management. The circumstances and the tasks that await them cannot be predicted. Although there are regular trainings and drills, the annual statistics clearly show that accidents do occur during interventions despite their caution and protective equipment. One of the aims of the research was increasing the safety of firefighters. The statistics about deployment and injuries of firefighters with a span of 11 years (between 2000 and 2010) were collected and analysed, then a conclusion was drew. The currently available protective equipment and methods which are the most suitable and in accordance with the current potentials were identified. The negative effects on fire fighters working - especially in closed space - resulting from the use of protective equipment as well as the ways of reducing risks of interventions was studied too. Based on one of the research findings, there are more ways to increase safety of both the fire fighter and the rescuee, thus the safety of the intervention. These ways include finding a more modern alternative of protective equipment, preparing firefighters for the circumstances in confined space is drilling in as life-like circumstances as possible and the use of devices which are currently not standard in firefighting.

Sieć elektroenergetyczna składa się z wielu urządzeń i jest narażona na działanie różnorodnych czynników, które powodują zakłócenia w jej pracy. Skutkiem tego mogą być przerwy w zasilaniu lub pogorszenie jakości energii elektrycznej. Długość tych przerw zależy w istotny sposób od prawidłowej diagnostyki: elementów sieci i procesów przesyłu i dystrybucji energii elektrycznej. Efektywność diagnostyki technicznej w sieciach elektroenergetycznej wpływa bezpośrednio na niezawodności dostaw energii elektrycznej. W artykule omówiono metodę pozwalającą mierzyć efektywność diagnostyki technicznej w oparciu o wykorzystanie wyznaczanych współczynników niezawodności poszczególnych elementów sieci elektroenergetycznej.
Distributed power network consists of many devices and therefore it is exsposed to the activity of various factors which result in interferences during their work. The causes of this include pauses in power supply and deterioration of the eneregy's quality. The length of the pauses depends in an essential way on undertaking correct diagnostical decisions in the area of the power network's elements and the electricity distribution. Efficiency of technical diagnostics in power network depends directly on reliablity rate of electricity supply. In the article, the method, that allows measuring the efficiency of technical diagnostics, based on a usage of assigned coefficients of reliability rates of particular elements in the power network, is presented.

This paper analyzes approaches to developing models for the technical exploitation (TE) of aircraft within operational management framework. The operational management contour of the TE of the airline’s AC fleet is considered as a TE process consisting of a sequence of flight routes, which, in turn, comprise a sequence of flights between airports in the airline network during the calendar interval when the aircraft are in this contour. We present a model that evaluates the capacity for aircraft recovery at the network airports of a hypothetical airline (dubbed “RAF”) if the need so arises, utilizing the probabilistic and temporal characteristics of the airports used for aircraft recovery.

The aim of this study was to assess technical feasibility of servicing for modern agricultural tractors. Labour intensity of technical service during the entire servicing cycle was adopted as a measure of serviceability for agricultural tractors. Among tractors included in this study the lowest labour intensity of technical service (P_st = 25 h) was observed for Forterra 105 tractors by Zetor.
Celem pracy była ocena technologiczności serwisowania współczesnych ciągników rolniczych. Jako miarę podatności serwisowej ciągników rolniczych przyjęto pracochłonność serwisu technicznego w okresie pełnego cyklu serwisowego. Spośród ciągników objętych badaniami najmniejszą pracochłonność serwisu technicznego (P_st = 25 h) zaobserwowano w przypadku ciągników marki Zetor Forterra 105.

The paper examines the similarities and differences between e-mails and Facebook conversations in the lexical and syntactic field. The examined material comes from an airline company. The theoretical part deals with formal language characteristics in the lexical and syntactic field, the practical part shows examples from those two methods of communication.The use of Facebook for Social Media purposes in the big corporations seems to be different than the language used on Facebook in a daily life. The study of e-mails and Facebook conversations aims to investigate technical terminology characteristics which appear in both methods of communication. The use of technicalities, lexical categories, conjunctions, abbreviations, international words, IATA-codes, loan words, passive constructions or different types of clauses in e-mails and Facebook conversations prove that the language used might be somehow qualified as a technical language in the touristic field and not only.A huge amount of examples confirm that although the specific language used on Facebook does not seem to be a technical language, it can be classified nowadays as technical one. Syntactic and lexical analysis results in a statement that despite of some dirrerences in structure, those two communication tools show many of technical terminology characteristics that is why they can be classified as one of the technical languages, with a special focus on the concept of language economy. This thesis shows also development of new technical language used on Facebook, so called Social Media language.
Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit fokussiert sich auf das Thema der deutschen Fachsprache und im engeren Sinne der Fachsprache Fluggesellschaft. Nach einer Auseinandersetzung mit dem Begriff der Fachsprache kommt es zur Erörterung der Merkmale der Fachsprache, die in den analysierten Texten zu finden sind. Für die Bearbeitung der sprachlichen Charakteristik der Fachsprache wurden zur Analyse die im Großunternehmen benutzen E-Mails und Facebookgespräche gewählt. Die gezeigten Beispiele sollten deutlich gemacht haben, dass die bei Facebook geführten Gespräche sich nur durch einige sprachliche Besonderheiten und durch den Aufbau von den formellen E-Mails unterscheiden. Trotz einigen Unterschieden kann man feststellen, dass sowohl die bei Facebook als auch die in den E-Mails benutzte Sprache die Merkmale der formellen und fachsprachlichen Korrespondenz aufweisen. Nach der Analyse unter lexikalischem Aspekt kann man feststellen, dass beide in den Großunternehmen benutzten Formen der computerbasierten Kommunikation zur Fachsprache gezählt werden können, in der der Fachwortschatz aus verschiedenen Bereichen, wie Bankwesen, Medizin, Technik, Informatik Tourismus, Musik, Sport und Rechtswesen verwendet wird. Obwohl man betonen muss, dass die beim Social Media Marketing benutzte Sprache viele Unterschiede bezüglich der E-Mails aufweist was den Aufbau anbelangt, kann man auch viele Sprachähnlichkeiten finden. Man konnte eine ganze Reihe von ähnlichen fachsprachlichen Merkmalen im lexikalischen und syntaktischen Bereich finden. Die durchgeführte Analyse sollte zeigen, dass es heutzutage zur langsamen Herausbildung einer anderen Fachsprache kommt, die charakteristisch für die Facebookgespräche mit den Kunden ist, nämlich die sog. Social Media Sprache. Dadurch tritt das Unternehmen mit den Kunden in Verbindung und zeigt wie es sich auf dem Werbemarkt entwickelt, mit den Kunden Schritt hält und Erwartungen der Kundschaft erfüllt. Wie jede Fachsprache erfüllt die Fachsprache im Bereich Touristik den Zweck, klare, unmissverständliche und eindeutige Anweisungen an die Zielgruppe, in diesem Fall Kunden der Fluggesellschaft, zu geben. Wie sich aus der durchgeführten Analyse herleiten lässt, ist die bei Facebook verwendete Sprache der Sprache in den E-Mails ähnlich, was auf die Fachsprache hindeutet.
Praca magisterska analizuje podobieństwa i różnice pomiędzy językiem używanym w e-mailach i rozmowach na Facebook’u na polu leksykalnym i składniowym. Badany materiał pochodzi z jednej z linii lotniczych. W części teoretycznej są przedstawione cechy języka formalnego w dziedzinie leksyki i składni, a następnie wymienione przykłady z tych dwóch metod komunikacji. Użycie Facebook’a do celów Social Media w dużych korporacjach wydaje się być inne niż to w codziennym życiu. Analiza e-maili i rozmów na portalu społecznościowym Facebook ma na celu zbadanie cech języka specjalistycznego, które pojawiają się w obu metodach komunikacji. Zastosowanie terminów fachowych, kategorii leksykalnych, spójników, skrótów, internacjonalizmów, kodów IATA, zapożyczeń, konstrukcji strony biernej oraz różnego rodzaju zdań pokazuje, że język użyty w tych dwóch środkach komunikacji może być zakwalifikowany jako język specjalistyczny w branży turystycznej i nie tylko. Ogromna ilość przykładów potwierdza, że chociaż język używany na co dzień na Facebook’u nie wydaje się być językiem fachowym, może być obecnie sklasyfikowany jako specjalistyczny, co potwierdza analiza na poziomie składniowym i leksykalnym. Analiza ta przedstawia, że język użyty w e-mailach i na Facebook’u wykazuje dużą ilość cech języka specjalistycznego,ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem koncepcji gospodarki językowej. Praca magisterska ukazuje również stopniowy rozwój nowego języka specjalistycznego stosowanego na Facebook’u, tzw. języka Social Media.

Charakterystyki drganiowe stanowią ważne źródło informacji o stanie technicznym maszyny. W większości zastosowań dla złożonych maszyn diagnoza opiera się na widmach drgań, jednak wpływ na nie ma, oprócz parametrów stanu, wiele innych czynników. Alternatywnym sposobem uzyskania informacji o stanie technicznym maszyny jest analiza trendów drgań. Można to zrealizować przez zastosowanie tzw. symptomów ewolucyjnych, opisujących ilościowo zależność poziomów drgań od czasu. Z modeli teoretycznych można wywnioskować, że zarówno szybkość narastania, jak i odstępstwo od liniowości mogą być przyjęte jako symptomy diagnostyczne. Ocena eksperymentalnych trendów drgań, uzyskanych dla turbin parowych, potwierdza ten wniosek i wykazuje, że tego rodzaju symptomy pod wieloma względami przewyższają typowe symptomy drganiowe, wykorzystywane w procedurach diagnostycznych.
Vibration patterns provide an important source of information on machine technical condition. In most applications for complex machines, diagnosis is based on vibration spectra, but they are influence by many factors other than condition parameters. Consequently false alerts can be triggered. Analysis of vibration trends is an alternative way to extract information on machine technical condition. This can be achieved by employing so-called evolutionary symptoms, which describe quantitatively the time dependence of vibration levels. From theoretical models we may conclude that both increase rate and departure from linearity can be accepted as diagnostic symptoms. Evaluation of experimental vibration time histories, obtained for steam turbines, has confirmed this conclusion and shown that such symptoms are in many aspects superior to typical vibration-based symptoms employed in diagnostic procedures.

Badania wykazały, iż wyposażenie gospodarstw w środki transportowe jest wysokie. Najlepsze zarówno pod względem ilościowym jak też jakościowym odnotowano w gospodarstwach specjalizujących się w uprawach polowych, natomiast najgorsze w gospodarstwach wielokierunkowych. Roczne wykorzystanie ciągników mieściło się w granicach od 865 do 429 godzin, samochodów osobowych od 469 do 54 godzin, samochodów dostawczych od 582 do 178 godzin a samochodów ciężarowych od 107 do 101 godzin. Średnio na jeden środek transportowy w zależności od specjalizacji gospodarstw przypada od 0,4 do 1,2 środka za- lub wyładunkowego.
Completed research has proven that farms are well-equipped with means of transport. Best-equipped farms, both regarding quantity and quality, were those specialised in field crops. The worst equipment was reported in multidirectional farms. Annual utilization of tractors ranged from 865 to 429 hours, cars - from 469 to 54 hours, delivery trucks/vans - from 582 to 178 hours, and trucks - from 107 to 101 hours. Depending on a farm specialization, there is from 0.4 to 1.2 loading or unloading unit to one transport vehicle, on average.

In the case of historic half-timbered buildings, the consequences of erroneous decisions regarding renovation or neglected conservation lead to irreversible damage processes. The effective undertaking of protection activities thus requires carrying out appropriate diagnostic studies. The results of these studies will make it possible to put forth renovation solutions which do not interfere with the historic architectural-structural layout of the building. The article presents the results of the assessment of the technical conditions of a 17th century church in Sękowice, built using traditional frame construction. As a consequence of earlier, inappropriate decisions pertaining to renovation works, a significant portion of the elements of the wooden construction underwent biological corrosion, as a result of which it lost its original mechanical properties. Some of the walls settled on corroded ground beams, with the uneven settling leading to distortions of the entire structure.

The aim of the article is to present the idea of technical disillusion as an artistic device used in particular videogames. This phenomenon is analyzed using the example of Batman: Arkham Asylum (Rocksteady; 2009). Because of the far-reaching analogies with techniques present in other artistic discourses, the device of technical disillusion is also examined in the context of literature and film – especially in regards to Ingmar Bergman’s Persona. From this perspective, using technical disillusion as a device exposes its artistic potential and enables us to consider games as space for creative exploration.

W referacie przedstawiona została próba określenia jednej z metod oceny stanu technicznego elementów części przepływowej okrętowego turbinowego silnika spalinowego LM 2500, stano-wiącego silnik napędu głównego okrętów Polskiej Marynarki Wojennej klasy fregata. Dążenia do zwiększenia efektywności eksploatacji wszelkiego typu silników wymuszają poszukiwania nie-określonych dotychczas bądź doskonalenia istniejących sposobów utrzymania najbardziej ekono-micznej ich pracy. W związku z powyższym przeprowadzone zostały badania, których celem było zidentyfikowanie okrętowego systemu kontrolno-pomiarowego silnika LM 2500, utworzenie bazy danych parametrów charakteryzujących jego pracę oraz opracowanie ich charakterystyk eksplo-atacyjnych dla potrzeb diagnozowania. Wyniki tych badań poz.wolą na opracowanie metody wnio-skowania diagnostycznego o stanie technicznym silnika na podstawie pomiaru parametrów eks-ploatacyjnych.
In this paper there is presented test of working out one of the methods of determination of the technical condition of the gasturbine LM 2500 inner parts, that makes main propulsion engine of the Polish Navy ships frigate class. Aspirations for increase of the efficiency of exploitation all en-gines extort to search indefinite up to the present or to improve of existing methods of the keeping the most economic work of engines. Taking into account there were realised researches in order to identification of the ship's control system of the gasturbine LM 2500, making data base of the ex-ploitation parameters and realization of exploitation characteristics for needs of diagnosing. Re-sults of these researches gave possibility to realise the method of diagnosing conclusion about technical condition of the gasturbine on the base of the exploitation parameters measurement.

The knowledge of the dynamic stat and structure of the system allows desercribing its behaviour, and allows creating prognosis models of the system behaviour in the function of dynamic evolution time, based on the model of the technical state symptoms growth. Most often, however, there are no known equations describing behaviours of the system in the function of dynamic evolution time, which accounts for the need to apply new tools to examine the dynamic state. There is, therefore, the requirement to experimentally verify analytical technical models as the proper one is a model which is verified in practice. An experiment is, therefore, often only an inspiration for further researches leading to the optimization of the construction. In this work presented are chosen problems of machines technical state diagnosis with the use of identification and technical diagnostics methods. Relations between methods of dynamic state evaluation and methods of technical state evaluation were indicated. Example modal analysis results illustrate the complexity of projecting dynamic state researches into diagnostic researches of machine state evaluation.

Opis:

The paper shows a necessity to consider the processes of load on and wear of tribological systems in Diesel engines (and therefore the changes in their states) in real conditions as random processes. This means that mathematical models for these processes can be random functions with an argument which is time (t) and with values which are random variables such as loads and wear of particular tribological systems. The load properties for the tribological systems have been presented as the main causes of their failures. It has been signaled that a stochastic dependence should be expected between mechanical load and thermal load, whose the intensity (force) can be defined by Czuprow’s convergence coefficient. A proposal has been submitted to accept that the tribological system load in Diesel engines is a stationary process with asymptotically independent increments. The reasons for this proposal have been presented in the form of relevant hypotheses and an exemplary graph of changes in pressure and temperature in an engine cylinder under operation. Also it has been signaled that the models of wear processes in tribological systems may be stochastic processes with special properties called semi-Markov processes. The wear properties for these systems have been explained in the form of relevant hypotheses.

The main purpose of this publication was to try systemizing the efficiency per-formance with particular regard to technical efficiency and measurement methods, and to identify the problems in defining and measuring the existing problems. The paper presents definitions of efficiency by selected authors, the classification and characterization of vari-ous types of efficiency made with particular emphasis on technical efficiency, and the basic methods for testing the effectiveness of the division on the indicator parametric and para-metric detailing the different measurement methods. A detailed analysis of the non-parametric methods for testing the effectiveness of technical support is the DEA (Data En-velopment Analysis) method presented with the example of the procedure for calculation of relative efficiency. The study identifies various modifications of the DEA method and also signalled areas where this method can be used to measure the effectiveness of specific enti-ties. The main research method used in the present study was to review and analyze the lit-erature on the subject topic.

Due to speciflc working conditions of gas turbine blades and difficult access to them their technical condition during their operation period is generally evaluated by a visual method with the aid of advanced optical devices. This paper presents the analysis of forms and kinds of gas turbine blade damages, which affect their reliability. The paper presents features of non-destructive inspection methods used for diagnosing the technical conditions of the said blades during their operation period. Special atiention was given to methods of computer aided diagnosing of the technical condition ofgas turbine blades, which increase the reliability of evaluation of the said condition and therefore reduce costs and enhance the operational safety. The process of destruction of a gas turbine blade starts with the destruction of a protective coating, in consequence of which the initial material of a blade is subject to a direct aggressive impact of the waste gas. This causes the material to directly overheat, which manifests itself in detrimental changes in its microstructure. There is need for a more common use of non-destructive methods for a current evaluation of the state of overheated aircraft engine turbine blades.

This study explores English for specific purposes learners’ understanding of technical words in a previously-developed technical word list in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The principal aim was to estimate what kind of technical terms pose problems to TCM learners and might therefore merit special attention in instruction. Of particular interest was the question whether there is a divergence in the understanding of technical vocabulary in TCM between Chinese and Western background learners. To achieve these aims, a combination of word association tasks and retrospective interviews was implemented with 11 Chinese and 10 Western background TCM learners. The data showed that both Chinese and Western learners encountered certain difficulties in understanding technical vocabulary in their study. However, their sources of difficulty were different. Comparisons of typical word associations between Chinese and Western learners indicated that there was a degree of divergence in the way these two participant groups understood TCM terms.

In the article the authors have attempted to analyze the specifications and criteria imposed on military vehicles acquired by the Polish Armed Forces. The issues of selection of the target operation standard, interval between periodic maintenance inspections, fault tolerance and reliability, which are defined in tactical-technical criteria by administrators, were addressed. The technical specifications are the essential component of qualification studies. The data obtained from research of prototypes and the initial years of exploitation of the new military equipment (SpW) constitute the source of verification for technical-tactical criteria (ZTT) or initial technical-tactical criteria (WZTT) adopted for implementation. The article also discusses the issues related to estimation of probability of the tasks to be executed by military vehicles in typical operating conditions depending on the lifetime, mileage or method of storage. Presumable combat losses, which are independent from the adopted operation system of the military equipment, have been omitted. The research works in the field of reliability are conducted in the Armored Fighting Vehicles Laboratory of the Military Institute of Armored and Automotive Technology in Sulejówek. Additionally, the authors have addressed the possibility of the application of computer simulation for the purpose of military vehicles reliability.

Praca dotyczy problemu diagnostyki zestawów kołowych pojazdów szynowych. W artykule przedstawiono zbiory cech mierzonych podczas badań diagnostycznych zestawu kołowego, które są podstawą oceny jego stanu technicznego. Wartości te tworzą wektor cech diagnostycznych, który może być wykorzystany podczas identyfikacji stanu technicznego pojazdu. W tym celu, w artykule wyszczególniono wartości graniczne tych cech, a także ograniczenia dotyczące użytkowania oraz odnoszące się do działań, które należy wykonać w systemie obsługi, w razie przekroczenia tych wartości. Umożliwia to identyfikację stanów technicznych pojazdów szynowych w trakcie eksploatacji. Tego typu relacje pomiędzy wartościami cech diagnostycznych i ograniczeniami mogą być wykorzystane do automatyzacji procesu formułowania diagnozy stanu technicznego pojazdu szynowego.
The paper deals with the problem of diagnostics of vehicle wheel sets. In the article, a diagnostic of set features, which are measured during diagnostic tests were presented. It is a basis for the technical condition evaluation of the vehicle wheel set. Values measured in these tests create the diagnostic features vector, which could be used for identification technical condition of a vehicle. For this, border values of these features and limitations for vehicle use as well as for kinds of working indispensable for realisation in the service system were also specified in the paper. The research makes identification of the technical conditions of rail vehicles for technical operation possible. This type of relationships between diagnostic features and limitations can be used for automation of the formulation processes of the diagnosis of rail vehicle technical condition.

The choice of a technical and organizational system, as a special case of the decision process, is, basically, identifying alternative methods to fulfill the assumed tasks, defining evaluation (selection) criteria and selecting an operation variant. In the article the process was presented on the basis of selecting equipment for a mine working. The applied multi-criteria evaluation of technical, technological and organizational solution was supplemented with sensitivity analysis which made it possible to visualize the impact of a changing market situation on the final result of the decision process.

Badania – metody, modele i wnioski - przedstawione w artykule zawierają syntetyczne i analityczne rozwiązania modelowe dotyczące problemów technicznego utrzymania i zużycia budynków mieszkalnych o konstrukcji tradycyjnej. Związki przyczynowo - skutkowe pomiędzy występowaniem uszkodzeń elementów kamienic czynszowych, traktowanych jako wyraz warunków ich utrzymania, a wielkością procesu technicznego zużycia tych elementów określono na reprezentatywnej, dobranej w sposób celowy, próbie 102 budynków mieszkalnych wzniesionych w drugiej połowie XIX i na początku XX wieku we wrocławskiej dzielnicy „Śródmieście”. Analiza studialna procesów eksploatacji obiektów mieszkalnych i wykonane w niej przekształcenia podstawowych zależności teorii niezawodności wskazuje, że dla okresu użytkowania obiektu, w którym czas poprawnej pracy do uszkodzenia ma rozkład wykładniczy (jest to w zasadzie okres eksploatacji odpowiadający długości czasu użytkowania rozważanych budynków mieszkalnych), średni pozostały czas bezawaryjnej pracy jest w każdym momencie niezmienny. Teoretycznie więc obiekty mieszkalne po upływie pewnego czasu bezawaryjnej pracy spełniają swoje funkcje tak jak nowe. Wiek elementów starego budynku mieszkalnego ma wtedy drugorzędne znaczenie w procesie intensywności utraty jego wartości użytkowych. Jeżeli przyjąć, że miarą dopasowania testowanych w metodzie regresji nieliniowej modeli matematycznych, jako funkcji zużycia technicznego elementów budynków w czasie, jest współczynnik determinacji, to nie więcej niż 30% zniszczenia elementów jest wyjaśniona upływem czasu. Nie wiek zatem jest czynnikiem determinującym przebieg technicznego zużycia elementów analizowanych budynków.
The paper contains synthetic and analytical test results and model solutions for technical maintenance and wear problems of apartment houses traditionally structured. The crucial methodological aspect of the research is striving to minimize the subjectivity of expert assessment while technical investigation of old buildings. The cause and effect between the occurrence of damage to the elements of the rental houses, treated as an expression of the conditions for their maintenance, and the size of the technical process of wear of these elements was determined on a representative, purpose-appropriate, sample of 102 residential buildings erected in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries in downtown Wrocław (Poland) district. Rational maintenance of existing buildings is nowadays significant issue for their proprieties. Therefore, there is constant need to find a research method that may lead to well thought out building maintenance management. The goal of undergone research was to search influence of apartment houses maintenance on the grade and intensity of their deterioration. As to fulfil the research objective the group of engineers identified symptoms of the technical wear growth, which means performed identification of causes and effects responsible for the defects appearance. The range of the work demanded elaboration of a new qualitative model of detected defects and its transfer into a quantitative model. Therefore, such approach enabled to establish the reason - effect connection ‘defect - technical wear’ related to the crucial structural parts of investigated apartment houses.

The paper presents a preliminary analysis of results achieved during technical control tests of 546 cars from Podlachia area. Conclusions concerning cars technical conditions and quality of its exploitation, as well as comparison with analogous results obtained by German Automobile Associations Dekra and TUV were made.

Passenger elevators (lifts) have become an indispensable part of building equipment in modern construction. Recognizing the gap in knowledge about the history of the development of lifting devices in Polish territory at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the author undertook a scientific research project. The study involved three main stages: archival queries, inventory trips across Poland to prepare a catalog, and analysis of the information gathered. This article is a project results summary and an attempt to answer some fundamental questions about the development of vertical transportation in the Polish construction industry.
Dźwigi osobowe (windy) stały się we współczesnym budownictwie nieodzownym elementem wyposażenia budynków. Dążąc do wypełnienia luki w aktualnym stanie wiedzy na temat historii rozwoju konstrukcji dźwigowych w Polsce na przełomie XIX i XX w., autorka podjęła się realizacji projektu naukowo-badawczego. Badania obejmowały trzy główne etapy: kwerendy archiwalne, wyjazdy inwentaryzacyjne na terenie Polski w celu opracowania katalogu oraz analiza zebranych informacji. Artykuł ten stanowi podsumowanie wyników badań oraz próbę odpowiedzi na zasadnicze pytania dotyczące rozwoju transportu pionowego w polskim budownictwie.

Opis:

Apart from contemporary natural and socio-economic hazards, which are sources of crises, risks associated with human activity, and therefore technical threats, also play an important role in the context of the overall level of national security. These include fires, construction disasters, transportation disasters, failures and contamination. For the article purposes the results of statistical surveys of national and international sources of information on threats and results of surveys conducted in selected local administration units (n = 101) were used. The study period covered the years 1999-2014. Due to the occurrence of technical hazards, the losses they generated were indicated as well. In addition, the ways of classifying technical threats and thus their taxonomy were specified. The cause-and-effect analysis was applied for the proper identification of technical hazards. Moreover, the main reasons for the emergence of technical hazards, their course and characteristics, as well as the effects by category of property, the environment and human life were identified.

The article applies dynamic multi-dimensional methods of relative taxonomy in an attempt to evaluate disparities in development of technical infrastructure in rural areas between the provinces of Poland. The results show that although the indices that describe the level of infrastructure development have been rising between 2004 and 2012, regional inequalities have remained high. Moreover, some of the provinces least developed in 2004 have not taken advantage of the opportunities provided by the EU accession to develop technical infrastructure in rural areas and boost their attractiveness.

Opis:

The study examines the shape of business research supervision in institutions of higher learning. The study was based on the sensitivity that the quality of business research supervision in Ghanaian Technical Universities is abating as less attention seem to be paid to such academic exercise by these institutions. The study was guided by the interpretive theory of social constructivism. Document analysis, archival contents and interview techniques were used to explore the perceptions of 45 participants and 120 archival contents (supervised and approved bounded project reports) on the state of business research supervision. Four set of issues including; (a) definition of research supervision, (b) existence of institution-wide research supervision policy and procedures, (c) availability of resource for research supervision exercise and (d) the extent of influence of quality assurance directorates on research supervision steered the study. Respondents had a more traditional and limited definition and understanding of research supervision. There was absence of institution-wide policies to govern project work undertaking and supervision. Although departments admitted having personalised research supervision policies, they were not overtly communicated to both students and supervisors. Project supervision exercise was also inadequately resourced: a demotivation for supervisors. Quality assurance policies did not cover project work supervision. Per the framework used in the study, the problems identified above accounted for poor quality supervision and had a rippled negative implication on research outcomes. Among others, the study recommended the development of institution-wide policies that clearly defines and communicates responsibilities of supervisors and students as well as supervision expectations. Supervision exercise should be well-resourced (financial, material, human, information and processes), this will help motivate supervisors and students to tackle the exercise with utmost seriousness. Quality assurance policies must be broadened to include all aspects - pre and post project work supervision phases. This is the only way ethical standards and integrity can be built into the supervision process. If the above recommendations are put into perspective, it is believed that quality supervision can be assured and consequently research outcomes will be improved.

Opis:

The article presents the results of investigations concerning the relations between the technical state of cars and the exhaust gasses emission for different groups of vehicles. First, the measurements of the test group of4000 different vehicles have been made. Those measurements have been elaborated in order to define typical damages of vehicles. The percentage of faulty vehicles and the type of faults was estimated. The damages of vehicles have been carried out using typical diagnostic methods, electrical value measurements and exhaust gasses analysis. Those measurements also provided information about the number of vehicles with high level of gas emission. The results of investigations were compared to the requirements of each model of a given year. Next, the measurements of the test group of 1000 vehicles have been made in accordance with ECE Regulations and the methodology of periodical car inspection. Those measurements also gave information about the level of emission from each vehicle. The results of investigations were compared to the requirements of each model of a given year and the percentage of high polluting vehicles has been presented. The vehicles have been divided into different exhaust emission legislation classes. Next, the relation between the number of faulty vehicles and the level of exhaust emission for the first and the second group of vehicles has been elaborated and presented. The results of investigations and analysis show the number of faulty vehicles and its influence on the level of emission.

Starting from Michael Rendell and his team's "Managing tomorrow's people", this paper sets out to build a possible future of leadership in the European engineering education by taking the students' view on tomorrow's world into consideration. We can ask ourselves if European technical universities, and engineering education in particular. could exist in a Blue, Green and Orange World. How would they look like and how efficient would "corporate" universities be, assuming that the Blue World would prevail in the next 10 years. What should their development strategies be and what labor markets would absorb their graduates? What if universities would be in the Green or Orange World? What leaders should they have then? Starting from these questions we try to construct possible scenarios for a European reality.
